REDEX Group Integrates UNGERER for Strip Leveling Technology

In addition to supplying levelling lines, UNGERER has continued to support its extensive customer base by offering new flying shear controllers for cut-to-length lines, Unflatness Measurement System software, and electrical retrofit packages based on Siemens and ABB automation technology. The company has also invested in enhancing its service and spare part capabilities, including the establishment of a state-of-the-art grinding and super-finishing shop for levelling rolls. Moreover, UNGERER provides on-site training for maintenance teams, ensuring the ongoing satisfaction of its customers.

As part of its strategic vision, the REDEX Group has decided to consolidate all its German affiliates into a single organization. This integration will enable UNGERER to benefit from the extensive international sales, service, and technology network of the REDEX Group, which spans the USA, France, Italy, Spain, UK, Slovakia, China, and India. The move will also facilitate new research and development (R&D) programs, leveraging Industry 4.0 digital breakthroughs through the “Smart Machine” R&D program, a collaborative initiative involving Siemens and various start-ups. By embracing these advancements, the REDEX Group aims to ensure UNGERER’s products remain at the forefront of technology, effectively addressing the emerging technological challenges posed by e-mobility, energy, and digital revolutions.

Effective July 1st, 2023, UNGERER Technology GmbH will be fully integrated into REDEX GmbH. The existing sales, technology, and service teams will continue their operations at their current locations in Pforzheim and Duisburg. UNGERER’s metal strip finishing technology will retain its status as a key brand within the REDEX Group’s comprehensive product portfolio.

To showcase its expanded capabilities and innovative solutions, the REDEX Group will exhibit at METEC Düsseldorf (Booth 1B49) from June 12th to 16th. With a workforce of 400 employees, including over 70 graduate engineers and PhD holders, the REDEX Group is a global company with a strong presence worldwide. Its diverse product range encompasses metal strip processing lines, rolling mills, and precision gearboxes. The estimated turnover for 2023 is approximately 100 million euros.
